You don't need to have riches to be happy...

You don't need great houses, posh rooms, mind-sweeping limousines to put a smile on your face...

Just learn to count your blessings every day and you shall experience the real joy. the real happiness. =)))

I had a simple breakfast wimmy parents this morning, before dad dropped me off for tuition at Kovan. We ate at the Hougang Ave 3 Wet Market and boy, the place brought back all my past memories; those that had long been buried deep underneath.

That market brought me back to my childhood days, when i would frequent the market wimmy mummy, carrying the groceries for her while strolling back to our house nearby... Back in those good old days; those carefree days...

I'm grateful that I finally managed to have a proper meal together wimmy parents! Argh. Cos it's lyk, staying in hostel in NTU compounds meant that i'm so separated from my parents. In any case, I now do treasure my time with them more. Well, I so love rattling on to my mummy about what happened throughout the week when I "book out" for the week...

I so love my bed at home, my bolster (although i don't use it) & the TV set. Goodness. Haa. I miss everything at home! But I am grateful that I'm able to try out hostel living. Life's been pretty fun so far. My neighbours are all rather friendly - we smile alot at each other whenever we meet. We even had the luxury of attending Salsa dance class together! (Well, everyone had a good laugh. muahahs)

All in all, I'm happy and pretty contented (not complacent though) that I feel really blessed. Well, I guess it all boils down to giving thanks, and taking time to see the good in things =)))

Here's wishing all my readers (probably only a few i guess) all the best in finding the simple joys in life too! Simple faith can do wonders! =PPP

Cheers
Jerica =)

Hurray! Had a go at wakeboarding for the first time today!!! muahahas. The event was organised by my varsity's Wakeboarding Club, for us freshies to have a try at wakeboarding. Previously had wanted to go wakeboarding with Leo, Ben, etc, budden that trip failed to materialise in the end. Nevertheless, I did manage to try wakeboarding! [Next time, it'll be parachuting & probably bungee jumping??? Hee!]

I didn't expect the sport to be so tough! It has always seemed so easy from the shows, and well, today's experience proved me otherwise. Haha. I drank gallons of seawater, trust me. Actually all I had to do was to relax and let the boat pull me up, but somehow, I think I used my arm muscles to pull myself up and now as I'm typing on the keyboard, my hands are so nuah (read jelly-ish)! Hee hee. Balancing was also another problem, although it was subsequently better after a while. At some point, I even managed to balance on my wakeboard on the sea even after I let go of the handle! Amazing huh? =)))

Here are some pictures!!

[Starting position]

[whee!]

[balancing... woah woah woah!]

[yay! =PPP ]

[i'm up! finally]

[My butt was burning!!]

[Bleah!]

[Jerica & Glenn, the guy who had all the muscles]

[Jerica & Chun Ming, the guy who had all the... rib cages (ok, fine... I was joking la. haa]

[Jerica, Chun Ming, Eric (the pro from Sweden), & Glenn]

*Credits to Chun Ming for helping me snap those pics. haha.*

The entire event started at around 9am and ended at around 1pm. Woah! Yup, as usual, Jerica's now tanned. or dark. or chao-tar; whatever you wish to call it. Hahas. In any case, wakeboarding is really really fun! Everyone should try it.

I wanna go Batam/ Bintan for their wakeboarding trip & course!!!

OMG! been so long since i last blogged!

REALLY REALLY enjoyed my birthday celebrations this year. muahahas.

4 August: Jiali, Karen, Kareen, Joyce, Marcus, Benjamin, and some other friends were at Phuture to "celebrate my birthday with me in advance". haa. This was because the Karen was not able to join us the following week, which was my actual birthay itself. Thanks to Karen, Jiali, & Kareen, who got me a Nike (Just Do It) tank top, plus paying for my entry to Zouk & subsidised my cab fare home. How nice!!! Really appreciate the effort you ladies put in... =))

10th August: This time round, went down to Phuture (AGAIN) with Kareen, Jiali, Sheile, Joyce, Marcus, Benjamin & his gang of friends! =))) Oh. Elisha was there too, but he was there with his own friends. At the strike of twelve, i received my birthday wishes PLUS(!) kisses!!!! Touched by such gestures. Muahahas. But then again, I think I asked for it. LOL. Enjoyed myself thoroughly that night, for I know I wanna stop clubbing so often, since I'll have to get back the momentum for school again. THUS! Well, you won't be able to spot Jerica in the clubs so often as previously I guess? Not for now at least. Haa. Am already at the point of saturation.

And yes, thanks to Marcus for buying sOOOOOOOOO many gifts for me! Especially like the tee with the caption "Trainee Pole Dancer". Hahas. Pretty cool black tee which I have come to love! Other than the black tee, there was also a white tee with some funny statements on it:

ABCDEFG = A Boy Can Do Everything For a Girl
GFEDCBA = Girl Forgets Everything Done & Catches new Boy Again.

Oh ya! there was also a bling bling necklace with two hearts in what looked somehow like a crown. Hee! Once again, something that I like. Hahas. Plus (finally), a pair of earrings. Such a nice sister we have! haa. Thanks huh, Sis Marc. LOL.

11th August: Actual day of Jerica's 19th Birthday itself, met up with the usual bunch of buddies (Kareen, Jacqueline, Jaslene & Benjamin) and had actually wanted to catch the movies, but was tough getting the tickets.

In the end, we didn't watch anything because of a super screwed up machine. Haha. That machine even got Jaslene, the ever-patient lady to be pissed of. How cool is that. Seriously, GV should stop displaying dummy machines to fool people like us lor. If it doesn't work, why bother spending money & placing it there?

If that's their strategy to cut down on the queue length, I'm sure they did cut down on the queue length, but well, they chopped off their revenue as well. =S

Back to my story, haa. Kareen joined us during dinner at Cafe Cartel, as well as Boon Hao, Jacqueline's boyfriend. I used my CapitalLand Malls Card & yay! managed to chalk up some Capi$ for rebates next time. Hee.

While on the way to Esplanade, Hwee Teen sneaked up on us, together with her boyfriend, Alex! =))) Was pleasantly surprised to have her around, as Jac had previously told me that Teen called her to say that she could not make it for the celebration. So, it was lyk, "Yay!!!" More people=more fun, since all of us had not met up for like 1 month?

At Esplanade (Jerica's favourite place), we went to the rooftop garden. Took many pictures there (Some which are posted on my Friendster account)!!! Been quite a while since we were able to take so super many pictures and laughed our hearts out la!

Halfway, a cake popped out for me! The best part was, there was only ONE candle on it! HEE HEE HEE! Cool isn't it? Jerica's still young. MuahahAs. Ok la, stop crapping. Mmmmmm. Boy, wasn't I touched by the surprise! =))) I made my wish at my favourite spot in Singapore (at least, other than my Home) on my birthday!!! The cake was delicious (from Angie The Choice), and I made each of my friend to take a bite from it. Oh well, NBS FOC (Nanyang Business School Freshmen Orientation Camp) has trained me well, to SHARE. haa.

I remember at some point of time before departing we were chatting about some "banana" and stuffs (Kareen's trauma). Haha. And the topic extrapolated into something sexual (but still funny and not too sexual because of the guys' abundant sense of humour) that made us laugh till we had cramps from all those laughing!!!

In any case, I really enjoyed my birthday this year, and hope that everyday's a happy day for me! ok! For everyone all right! =))) Special thanks to Kareen for liaising with the others at Phuture's celebration, and my bunch of ladies (the clique) who never failed to bring much joy into my life! Also, to all who had celebrated wimme: Just by being there, YOU MADE MY DAY! =PPP

Jerica's back! =))

Had a busy week, although I only went school for 2 days this week. "Booked in"to hall on Sunday night, and booked out on Tuesday night. Muahahas. Pretty fun, and had a taste of Uni lectures on tuesday itself.

I reckon it shall be a pretty relaxing semester for me this time round. Gosh. I only have 4 core modules to clear (and the system told me I can't add any more electives or whatsoever, otherwise I'd have exceeded my Academic Units!)... So crazy! So it's like, I think my days are pretty free. Heh. Can book out on Thur afternoons, since there is no lesson on Fridays.

Missed my home! Was so happy to finally touch home, after the almost-2-hr trip back. Gosh! I was so happy to sleep on my comfy bed! For once, I had a taste of what NS men go through. Argh. Even though I have been to umpteen camps, this was the first time i think i felt so home-sick. Haas.

Am glad that finally I'm making sense of all the AUs, electives, etc. Hees. Was so stressed out by the registration the other day.

*******************************

Printing of notes & tutorials are a big part of my life i reckon, now that i have embarked on the journey to working towards a good Degree. Still in the process of getting used to such a culture (where previously we JCians were pretty spoon-fed i guess)... Ooops.

********************************

Busy day tomorrow!
Having a seminar tomorrow morning, so have to wake up at say, 5.15am? (Cos I didn't book in to my hall. Haa. rommie nt in, dun wish to spend my time alone in the room myself. Scary!)

Seminar's from 8.30-11.30am.

Meeting sis to go to Student Affairs Office to collect my Tertiary EZ Link card (FINALLY!) after which.

Hafta go back to hall to retrieve some personal stuffs

Buy prescribed textbooks

Tuition at Sengkang

Party to end off the day!!! Countdown to Jerica's birthday!!!

Muahahas. Busy, no? Actually wanted to fix a facial appointment, but don't think can squeeze in lars. Haa. Oh ya! Still hafta complete tutorials & do reading ups over the weekend, as soon as I manage to get my laptop! =))) Hope I can get it on Saturday...

Saturday probably going down Sim Lim to browse (& hopefully) purchase a laptop, afterwhich will be meeting my beloved ladies (the usual clique) in town for K-Boxing session to celebrate my birthday!! Muahahas. Been so long since I last K-boxed! Gosh. Wondering if my sore throat will be fine by then? *Pray hard!*

Alryte, blog again! =)))

Thursday 2 August 2007

Wed: Wed afternoon was spent in NTU. Collected my room key (was so super excited for it, and for school!) with my room mate & we almost died from the stuffiness in the room when we opened the door! Haa. Spent quite some time cleaning up our room. With some proper delegation & assignment of tasks, both of us managed to sweep (gosh! there were lotsa lotsa dust!!!), mop the floor, clean the wardrobe, study desk, etc. Room's now spick & span!

Thur: Dad drove me n my 1000-n-1 things to my hall (NTU Hall of Residence 14, btw). Yay! Finally i was gonna start unloading all those stuffs into my room. Cool! Was pretty exhilarated throughout the ride there. Muahahas. Punggol to NTU. How far. Goodness. muahahas.
Pleased that almost 90% of stuffs are there already. Haa. Oh, I didn't forget to bring along snacks. haha. to "decorate my room". Jkg. For me to eat la.
Random thoughts. Don't think I would be coherent right now, but still, i'm gonna blog. Whee! =)))

Things to buy: Toothbrush, Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Washing Powder, Softener, Clothes pegs, etc. Gotta go shopping this Sun!

While I'm happy with moving into my room, i'm pretty perturbed by the registration of subjects! The whole system sounds so scary. & i'm quite sure I might go mad if I don't seek help from my friends/seniors soon. Gosh. Prescribed Electives, Unrestricted Electives, Minor Programmes, etc etc etc. I didn't know I had to deal with so many stuffs. All along had only thought: OK, you have to satisfy (certain number) of AUs (Academic Units) to graduate to 2nd year (& so on), so GET IT. That was all I thought. Seems like I'm wrong. Haa.

STRESSED! LOST! CONFUSED!

Somebody please help me. Haa.

Fri will be Freshmen Welcome. I should be down at Nanyang Auditorium at 2.30pm for some talks? Lol. Apparently, I don't mind being there lah, since I have my own room around the campus, though it's flung off in another corner of NTU. Hee hee. Night time should be at DBL O for the hall bash ("JASH" or sth?).

Sat will be at Phuture, courtesy of Karen, Kareen, Jiali. muahahas. to celebrate my 19th bday, since Jiali & Karen won't be around next Sat. (Argh.) YongXiang just told me awhile ago that there will be some NTU Alumni Function there. Yup. So i should be able to catch him ard Phuture next Sat. =)))

Okie dokies! Blog again soon. Gotta go dinner dy. Muahahas.
