Papa Santa ain't coming to me this year

But he's sent me Uncle Rico. How nice of Papa Santa!

Wahaha.

Met up with Pamela and Shuwen in town for a wholesome lunch (the topic of conversation, that is) today... Really great to catch up with old friends! Old friends who remain true in your heart... despite the distance, despite the differences... Talked for mny hours pondering on best solutions for the knottiest of problems. Hmmmm. May the problem be solve real soon. =) Or maybe, all it takes is time?

After lunch with them and walking around Ngee Ann, Rico joined me to continue our hunt in New Year clothes! Whee hee hee. And yeah! Gods above decided to sack Papa Santa and bless me with Mr Rico to take care of me and my family. For the very first time in my shopping spree with him, he paid for the only 1 item i decided to purchase! Was quite a moment cos i had never wanted him to pay for me. But this time it was different - which remains a secret to us both? Hee hee. Ask me if you're really keen to know! Wahahah. So i ended up with only a Guess tee, what a pity. Rico wanted so much to get Fred Perry but their smallest size for the design he fancied was LLLLLLLLLARGE! why so liddat. *shakes head*

Ok, bang (gun shot)! Back to my shopping spree.

Caught sight of this CK Jeans at Isetan Scotts which i kinda liked, and thought would fit me. Going at only $80, which was like ... more than 50% from the original of $200 (can't rmb and didn't take real notice)? Goshness gracious, sales and bargains are really turning me on. Bad bad bad. I'm supposed to be saving as i'm not working. In the end i didn't buy it, as the item did not come in their CK bag, but in the Isetan bag. SO FUGLY. tsktsk. It's a classic i tell you; red and gawdy. Pardon me for being so rude. HAIZ. Can there be changes for once?

ANW, we went back at ard 8pm, almost sufficient time for us to catch Lil' Nonya at 9pm. Wahaha. Thanks to Rico for helping me lug the super ultra heavy laptop around in town while we shop!!! =SSS *massage massage 4u ok!*

And yes, i haven't uploaded the pictures of my luxury goods shopping spree with Laykoon so i will blog about the trip in another entry! =))) Hehs.

Spread the joy and love, people!

Cheers!
Jeri =DDD

6th month was my turn to plan! As usual, i was kind of bad at planning surprises (i'm only good at spontaneous ideas of sorts?) and Rico and I almost ended up quarrelling. All thanks to this stupid taxi driver who was so ignorant that we would have been so much better off without him. He kept asking us which way to go...

HELLO ARE YOU THE DRIVER OR ARE WE THE DRIVER?

If i had known my way and had the whole time in the world to let you waste by getting lost in Mackenzie area, why would I be taking a cab?

Rico tried to guide him, but the cabbie claimed he was new. So we got so fed up getting lost (and possibly missing our dinner reservation at 7.30pm) that we decided to just drop off and walked our way there.

Poor Jeri was in heels. She was in such a foul mood by the visual harassments from some ah beis that she announced to Rico, "If somebody dares to be funny or whistle at me (Jeri gets wolf-whistles at times), the person is gonna get it from me. And my heels."

Anw, we managed to arrive at Tao's Restaurant (at Paradiz Centre) on the dot, and proceeded in under the warm welcome of the service staff there. When i say warm, it means they are REALLY REALLY warm. But can get quite annoying at times, especially when guests arrive and they greet in unison following a lead voice, or when guests leave and they do the same. Sometimes, the warmth becomes noise. =S

Yup and so Tao's is so smart that they have this 7 course set dinner (easy for guests to make up their mind) at merely $29.80++ per pax, and for most of the courses, we get to choose from an array of variety... Let the pictures take you there, to experience the world of fusion cuisine! =)

-Starter was Cheese Gratin with FREE FLOW of Toast-
(We were so hungry we tucked in without taking the pictures!!!!)
My salad dish, Fruit Salad, consisting of crab meat mayonnaise enveloping various fruits inside. It's like a fusion of japanese and chinese/ western?

Side Dish - Grilled Mushroom

Mushroom Soup

Rico's Main Dish - Grilled (or roasted - can't rmb) Chicken
He ordered this, having full faith that his chicken will be bigger than the fish i ordered (See below)

Jeri's Main Dish - Spicy Stingray! SUPER SPICY. Laykoon will love this. Haaa.
My stingray was super big - too much for me to finish and was too spicy!
[When the service staff cleared my plate and realised that it was too spicy for me, they offered to replace with another main dish - VERY GOOD isn't it?
Expect to get totally bowled over by their service.

And yeah, their free flow of rose tea (we thought so?) was very aromatic; but beware of how you hold the cup, as the cup isn't very ergonomic!]

We had the same dessert - Choc Fondue
The amount was sufficiently satisfying without being too nauseating
Ideal for those with sweet tooth! Haaas.

Beverage as the other course in the meal, I ordered Summer Peach, with Peach pieces inside =)

All in all, the dinner at Tao's restaurant was a pretty nice experience! Side by side to Juju (Jap Cuisine wth same concept), we might be finding our way there for an enjoyable Jap meal soon!

And yes, Happy 6th month Darlie Tan! I'm so proud of you and happy for you, for finding such a fantastic ... GF. HAHA. Ok la, joking! =P

Yippee yays! (I think i got this phrase from Audrey?)

Been EEEEEOOOOOONNNNSSSS since i last blogged. And i'm blogging now cos i'm in a pretty good mood, having registered successfully for my modules for the upcoming semester AT FIRST GO.

Wahaha. =P

Anw, Happy HALF YEAR to Jeri & Dearico! (And many more to go!)
It feels so weird; as though i'm announcing to my readers. And i hope you do share my joy, bleah. But actually all i wanted is to jot down the details and remember the dates! =)

The past 2 months have no been easy. Seriously. The exam fervour caught up with me and towards the end of examinations which spanned ard 3 FREAKING weeks long for my pathetic 4 papers (i ended on the last day of exam), i had lost all steam. I wanted to let go; just scrape through. Rico told me to hang on, egged me on, bought me sweets and snacks to encourage me... Where to find u tell me! hahahas. Ok, i'm joking. But eh, i'm really appreciative, seriously.

He offered his place for me to study (and stay over), made sure i study, and most of all, he accompanied throughout the many many weeks i started getting down to preparations for the exams. Though he was playing DOTA and Dekaron most of the time, the company was really something I had never taken for granted. He knows that if he goes out, i would be tempted to go along too, so he stayed home, only bringing me out for strolls or breathers every now and then, and also, for good food. He has got a picky tastebud so if you were to ask him for recommendations, you would have come to the right person. Hees.

Now to update the things that have been going on throughout November till now…:

1. Audrey came back to SG on 21st Nov! FINALLY… But it was a pity I didn’t manage to fetch her from the airport as Rico was still very sick and it was awkward for me to go meet drey (and her many friends) alone. Bleah. Sorry Drey! =S And apologies to Teen for not attending your birthday celebration at O Bar too!

2. Took my exams from 14th-28th Nov. 3 Fridays long! =((( But was nice meeting up with old friends at old spot to mug hard. And exchanging questions and answers… Very nice of my dear friend Hongli! Heeee.

Another special mention is another friend Chioky chiok… I must say she’s really really strong. Despite the performances and rehearsals for her ballet performance, she has had to juggle with studies and also taking care of her hospitalised dad. She’s really earned my admiration for her courage and for being so strong, so strong that even when her dad passed away, she didn’t tell us – she didn’t want us to worry I guess? So strong that when we were at her dad’s wake, her bf told us she didn’t cry after Day 1 I think. She was told her dad wouldn’t go in peace if the family cries. How strong to suppress the tears for a family member that have lived so dearly; meant so much to her.

So strong that she is still able to perform on stage in her tutu and ballet pumps with a huge smile. Professionalism of it all exuding from this young lady – someone who will definitely go very far in life. Fate has decreed tough times for her, but she doesn’t falter. She grits her teeth and trudges on, knowing that she can conquer the fears, the tears and win the cheers… It ain’t easy at all. And it’s really surprising that she is so strong. She is just that strong. I’m proud of you, Chiok!

3. Our 5th month celebration was at My Secret Garden, which has won rave reviews from even Mediacorp artistes like Priscelia Chan in the episode or something… Was quite a posh place and the ambience was really nice. The thrill was, I didn’t expect him to bring me to such a nice place, given that he’s still serving NS and not raking in big bucks you see? It’s always nice knowing that he plans way in advance and makes the extra efforts to save up just so he could pop up nice surprises.=P

Thank you!!!!!!!

That’s OUR secret garden… =)

Looking all dressed up

I love the tealights!

I ordered this grilled chicken; while he ordered for the cod fish which was the most ex on the menu, but...

(Note the meagre amount of fish?)

Dessert was at some other place in Bugis; what’s the name again? They serve really fresh fruits on their shaved ice! Yummy yummy yummy, but greedy Jeri just focused on eating that she had forgotten to take pictures! Hahahas.

These few months we hadn’t really shopped, and I couldn’t even remember when was the last time I made my way down to Orchard to SHOP. I love grocery shopping though; cos I know New Year is coming and we gotta clean up the house! Haa. And I love to cook for him, and my family as well! I learnt a few dishes from his mum and there was once we were making sunny side ups when the egg he broke open had 2 egg yolks! How cute and how lucky la! Goodness. Imagine my elation and pride when he said that one of the dishes was like his mum’s cooking! =PPP But well, I know there’s a long way to go from here, cos his mum can really cook super super well. And she knows many many dishes and soups. Salute!

To Rico:

Through the ups and downs, we learn and grow.

I am thankful that my life has become so much more colourful because of you… =)

Thanks for taking care of my baby cousins together

(yes, u sure are attractive when u play and coo wif kids),

cooking our meals together,

giving me morning calls to wake me up to study,

bringing me to the temple to pray together,

patting me to sleep at night,

hugging me tightly in ur warm embrace,

and always bombarding me with teasings and “koo-chee-ings”.

Most importantly, thanks for tolerating with my “London Choco Roll”-s,

and my many other nonsensical singing + lameness.
(I know it’s not easy to laugh at a joke which is not funny.

And that’s why u don’t laugh. =.=”)

Thanks for the shower of love and the gift of understanding.

Jeri Loves You, Rico.

Now, can you please update your blog? HAAAAA.
